Corlea Trackway

The bogs of Ireland were hard for Iron Age men to navigate, so roadways made of oak planks were constructed for travelers. The Corlea Trackway, built in 148 BCE is the largest known European example of such a bog road. The excellent museum includes a restored section of the roadway.
In the legend of Midir and Etain. Midir was given the task of building a road through the bog. The Trackway is near Ardagh Mountain, legendary home of Midir.
